Remember, a pedicure is not only for women!
To start your own pedicure, remove any nail polish that may already be coating the nails. Cut your toenails so you can just see the tip of your toe flesh, then using either a nail file or emery board, soften sharp edges and shape the nail.
The next step is to place your feet in either a bowl or tub of warm water with some soapy bubble bath or foot scrub. Clean them off and leave them in there for 10 minutes, then, placing a towel on a stool (or whichever surface you may be using), place one foot on the stool and begin using a cuticle pusher to push back cuticles of each toe, following with a cuticle trimmer. (Most cuticle pushing tools come with the trimmer on the other end). Trimmers need to be used first in one direction, and then in the other for best results. Once you are done one foot, place it back in the water and do the other.
When you’re done with your cuticles, take out the first foot again and, in gentle circular motions, rub the bottom with a pumice stone and repeat on the other foot. Pay special attention to the spots where you develop the most calluses. Usually it’s the heel for everyone and then one or two other spots where you tend to walk heavier on.
Dry off feet thoroughly, wiggle your toes, and either put some almond oil on the cuticles and nails, or apply three layers of base coat nail polish, letting them dry in between coats. Finally, apply top coat after all the base coats have dried!
Now your feet are ready to run along the beach bare foot, be shown off, or walked down any trendy, upscale street – all in confidence!
